Pinpoint

You get five countries and a world map with no labels. Drop a pin for each one, submit once, and your score is how far off you were in total.

How it works

Pick a country from the list and click the map to drop its pin. Do that for all five. You can drag pins around as much as you like before you submit.

You only get one submit a day, and nothing is scored until then, so take your time.

Inside the border is perfect

You don't need to hit the exact middle of a country. Anywhere inside its border counts as zero miles off.

That makes big countries easy targets. For small ones, aim for the middle since there's not much room for error.

Use the easy ones as landmarks

Start with the countries you're sure about, even if they're further down the list. Once they're pinned, it's much easier to place the tricky ones next to them.

Example

Today's five are Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Japan and Paraguay. Australia and Brazil are big and easy to spot, so pin those first. Egypt is easy too, up in the corner of Africa.

Now Paraguay is simple because it's tucked right under Brazil, which you've already pinned. You can do the same thing with Japan by working from the coast of Asia.

Tips

1Aim for the middle of small countries. Anywhere inside a big one is fine.
2Use the coastlines. They're the easiest thing to recognise on a blank map.
3Pin the easy ones first.
4Check every pin before you submit, because you only get one go.
