Proof is a test of your internal clock. Each ticket gives a bake time, the oven window fogs up, and you pull the tray when you think the time is up.
How it works
Each round shows a ticket such as “Croissant: 14 seconds.” Tap Into the oven to start, then tap Pull the tray (or press Space) when you think the time is up.
While it bakes, the window is fogged and nothing on screen changes with time. The only motion is a slow loop of steam that doesn't line up with the clock.
Scoring
The score is based on how far off you were as a share of the bake time: every 1% costs 2.5 points. Within 5% is a perfect golden bake. Pull too early and it comes out pale; too late and it burns. Anything 40% off scores nothing.
Example
The ticket says 20 seconds and you pull at 21. That's 5% late, so the loaf is golden and scores 88. Pulling at 16 seconds (20% early) would score 50 and come out underbaked.
Tips
- 1Count steadily from the moment you tap, not from when the tray finishes moving.
- 2Longer bakes are where clocks drift. Try counting in groups of five.
- 3Don't watch the steam. It's there for atmosphere, not timing.
